Academic Advising/Counseling Policy
All Students in the MSUCOM PA Medicine program will be assigned an academic advisor from MSUCOM PA Medicine faculty. Students are free to contact their advisor at any time for academic advice and/or counseling. Students should first contact individual course instructors for concerns regarding a particular PA Medicine course. Office hours for all faculty are posted and/or listed in the course syllabi. It is the responsibility of the student to schedule an advisor appointment at least once each semester, and as needed. The advisor appointment can take place at any time during the semester; however, as a general rule, students should proactively schedule the appointment and avoid scheduling on the final two weeks of the semester. Faculty advisors are responsible for reviewing student performance of their advisees during each semester meeting. The program and/or individual student advisor reserve the right to mandate a meeting with an advisee at any time to address concerns related to professionalism and/or academic performance. Students are expected to comply with the request to meet.
