Dr. Ashley Malliett, DMSc, MPAS, PA-C is the clinical coordinator and principal faculty at Michigan State University, College of Osteopathic Medicine in East Lansing, Michigan. Dr. Malliett has an extensive background in cardiovascular medicine, specializing in Advanced Heart Failure, Mechanical Circulatory Support, (MCS), and Cardiac Transplant.

 Prior to joining MSU, Dr. Malliett served in various leadership roles at Concordia University Ann Arbor Physician Assistant Program in Ann Arbor Michigan.  She was the academic coordinator overseeing the didactic curriculum, admission chair, and member of multiple program committees. Additionally, Dr. Malliett continues to serve as adjunct faculty for Butler University, Doctor of Medical Sciences Program in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Dr. Malliett has also served in various leadership capacities in the PA profession including current president of the Michigan Academy of PAs, past secretary of the Michigan Academy of PA’s, past CME chair for the Michigan Academy of PA’s, past American College of Cardiology CME committee member, Vice Chair of Henry Ford Health Systems (HFHS) APP Council, American Heart Association Heart Walk Team Lead, and 2023 graduate of the MHA Healthcare Leadership Academy.

Dr. Malliett has been involved with several studies that have allowed for the optimization of guideline directed medical therapy in advanced heart failure therapies. Clinically her area of research is in mitigation of risk of cardiac allograft vasculopathy in the first-year heart transplant recipients.  Academically her research interests include mitigation of risk of attrition in first year PA students and risk-stratification of admission criteria in PA Admission.  

Dr. Malliett is a frequent speaker at regional professional meetings and participates with Whitmore Lake Public Schools to bring healthcare education and exposure to elementary students.

Dr. Malliett earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Sciences and Leadership Studies from Central Michigan University in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. She completed her master’s degree in physician assistant studies at the Wayne State University in Detroit Michigan and received her Doctor of Medical Sciences degree from the University of Lynchburg in Lynchburg, Virgina. She lives in Milford, Michigan with her husband, Blake and their two children.
